Week of March 18th

Hope you enjoyed a "green" weekend!

Reading Workshop: We are finishing our biographies and are going to begin writing specific aspects of each person's life. This will be the pre-writing for our first person narrative essays! I hope your child has been sharing with you some of the amazing facts we are learning about each person!

Writing Workshop: We'll continue practicing essay writing and how to answer text based questions.

Math: Fractions will be wrapping up this week as we continue to look at them on a number line, identify basic equivalent fractions, and how to compare and order fractions based on their size.
We will also begin our investigation of Geometry. Our geometry unit includes a lot of vocabulary. We'll be making flash cards in which we'll use daily to practice all of our terms. Continue to practice math facts at home so they become automatic! This is extremely important!

Science: We have just wrapped up our research on each of the planets. By the end of the week I'll be introducing the students to an online resource in which they'll do a final project online about their favorite planet!

**Be on the look out for an invitation inviting parents in for our Wax Museum in April! This will be coming home by the end of the week!
